ABOUT SEAN
Sean Radford's study of the guitar began at the age of five, when he began
learning from his father. Though Sean is known mostly for his virtuoso work as a first-rate session
musician and recording artist, he has also dedicated much of his life
to music education as a teacher. Inspired by his own teachers - among
them several notable composers and guitar gurus - he has taught
hundreds of students, many of whom have gone on to successful music
careers of their own. In addition to teaching at his private studio, he
has taught for several Seattle-based music instruction schools,
including the Northlake School of Performing Arts, Music-Go-Round,
Cedar Park School of Fine Arts, and Moore Brothers Music. He has also
taught internationally, and has conducted lessons in English, Italian,
Spanish, and Portuguese.
As a session musician, Sean has lent his talent to numerous studio and live recordings, commercial jingles, film soundtracks, orchestral works, and several rock, pop, and contemporary Christian albums. He has also recorded a large body of work as a solo artist and as a member of several popular rock groups in the Pacific Northwest and Europe. He recently recorded with Dating Delilah, one of the best-known Seattle bands of the last five years. Hired to give the band "shred cred," Sean completed the guitars on their 2006 album "Don't Think, Just Move." He departed the band in late 2007 after writing and recording the band's self-titled third album, which received a great deal of attention from several major labels.
When he is not recording, performing, or teaching, Sean enjoys volunteering for important local and global causes. Sean has performed at and helped to organize benefit concerts for the Red Cross, ALS Association, and several other charitable organizations. He also helps lead the band and coordinate musical events for Icon Church.
